PROSPECTS FOR INTEGRATION OF PHOTOVOLTAIC SOLAR ENERGY IN ELECTRICITY GENERATION IN RIO GRANDE DO NORTE STATE |
Author : A. C. F. WANDERLEY; A. L. P. S. CAMPOS |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : The generation of power electricity in Brazil is predominantly renewable generation with internal hydraulic being more than 74% of its total energy matrix. The electricity rationing occurred in 2001, due to lack of rain, led the country to increase the participation of alternative energy sources. This need for new sources of energy makes the regional potential to be exploited, which configures the change of generation model from centralized generation to distributed generation. Among the alternative sources of energy, solar is presented as very promising for Brazil, given that most of its territory is located near to the equator line, which causes a longer duration of the solar day. The Rio Grande do Norte (RN) has one of the highest levels of solar irradiation of the Brazilian territory, making it eligible to receive investments for the installation of photovoltaic solar plants. This article will examine the potential for generation of solar photovoltaics in RN through solarimetrics measurements performed in Natal, the state capital. |

Author : C. SOUZA; H. F. BARRETO; V. GURGEL; F. COSTA |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : The objective of this work was to evaluate the availability and quality of the fodder herbaceous, arbustive and arboreous extracts in an fragment of Caatinga, in Rio Grande do Norte State, Brazil. Where drawn 24 were transects, for visual assessment is scored points every four meters, totaling 576 points. For ampling of the herb, we used a square of 1m², being made a projection of two feet tall to sample the arbustive-arboreous. For identification of species, we used the common name and then obtained the scientific name. We identified 11 species, belonging to 7 families, with a predominance of Leguminosae, and 3 shrubs and 4 arboreou. The fitomass availability from the herbaceous component varied from 1219.95 (July/2010) to 1089.58 (January/2011) kg of dry matter (DM). Despite the relatively high fitomass availability, only a small percentage (10%) was considered as fodder from the material found. |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : The biological fixation of N2, associated to plant forage is an important stage in the cycle of the nitrogen, because bacteria can contribute in the part supply of necessary N to the plants. The samples of roots were collected of three grassy: Andropogon, Tanzania and Buffel. The isolated bacteria in selective way, they were proceeded the quantification, fenotipic characterization, and later purified with sodium hypochloride and stored it in plastic bags. The density of the bacteria was influenced by the root niches and grassy forage, being the grass Andropogon and Buffel that showed larger densities of microorganisms. |

EVALUATION OF PRODUCTIVITY AND QUALITY OF ELEPHANT GRASS AND SORGHUM IRRIGATED WITH SOIL WATER TABLE AND REJECT OF THE DESALINATOR |
Author : M. B. VALE; P. V. AZEVEDO |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : A field experiment was conducted (08/22/2012 to 01/02/2013) on community “Riacho Salgado (Salt Creek)”, São Paulo's Potengi-RN, to evaluate the productivity and quality of elephant grass and sorghum whose soil was irrigated with the ground water and desalination of waste. We analyzed the following parameters of productivity and nutritional quality: green mass, dry matter and crude protein content of the two cultures. The increased salinity of the irrigation water of 2.89 dS/m to 3.69 dS/m reduced plant height, the crude protein content, yield of green mass and dry of the two cultures. The productivity of sorghum in relation to all these parameters was higher than that of two cultivars of elephant grass, and the productivity of the grass growing purple relatively higher than that of green grass. Thus, sorghum BRS Ponta Negra is an alternative socioeconomic sustainability to the use of waste water desalination system in which salinity conditions present at or below the study, thus ensuring an alternative source of income and employment for agriculture family or Water Users Association on semi-arid region. |
